ETH Price Prediction: Bulls defend the $2,200s as momentum cools and derivatives stay balanced
Price Prediction

Price action has faded back to support
Ethereum is back in the low-$2,200s after a recovery attempt stalled. On the Binance spot market, ETH last traded at $2,235.01, down 0.51% on the day, inside a 24-hour range of $2,251.54 to $2,223.15. That leaves price only modestly above the immediate support cluster at $2,221.59 and strong support at $2,208.18, while the pivot point sits almost exactly on top of the current print at $2,236.57.
That setup matters because it shows the rebound has not yet escaped the same band that has contained price recently. Crypto.news said on November 5 that ETH had slipped back toward $2,240 after a failed push toward $2,450, and TradingView news also reported a rejection after midweek strength. In other words, the market has not confirmed that the latest bounce has turned into a sustained trend change.
Technicals still point to a market in repair, not a clean breakout
The moving-average stack is still overhead. ETH is below its 7-day SMA at $2,272.09, its 20-day SMA at $2,317.86, its 12-day EMA at $2,283.06 and its 26-day EMA at $2,342.45. It is also well below the 50-day SMA at $2,485.29, which keeps the medium-term trend leaning lower even though the 200-day SMA at $2,156.54 is now acting as a lower anchor.
Momentum is mixed but not constructive enough to call a breakout. The daily RSI at 39.26 is below the midline, which usually signals weak momentum rather than outright exhaustion. The MACD reading is -59.3886, with the signal line identical and the histogram at 0.0000, which suggests momentum has flattened but not yet turned decisively higher. Stochastic %K at 22.08 and %D at 17.67 still leave ETH in a low-momentum zone, while Bollinger positioning at 0.2259 shows price sitting in the lower part of the band structure, with the lower band at $2,166.71 and the upper band far above at $2,469.01.
The read-through is straightforward: ETH is not oversold enough to force a bounce, but it is also not strong enough to break resistance cleanly without fresh demand.
Derivatives are not confirming a one-sided conviction
Binance Futures data show a neutral funding rate of 0.0046%, which means the market is not paying up aggressively for long exposure. Open interest is large at 2,365,700.71 contracts, with daily open interest value at $5.34 billion and a 24-hour rise of 1.24%. That combination tells you leverage remains active, but not necessarily directional enough to settle the next move on its own.
Positioning is long-heavy on Binance cohorts: the global long/short ratio is 3.4984, with long accounts at 77.8% and short accounts at 22.2%, while top traders show a similar skew at 3.3497, with 77.0% long and 23.0% short. The taker buy/sell ratio is 1.0097, which is close to balanced order flow. Taken together, that does not describe a panic unwind or a euphoric chase; it describes a market where participants are positioned bullishly, but spot flow has not yet forced follow-through.
What would change the picture
For ETH to improve its short-term structure, it needs to reclaim the $2,249.98 to $2,264.96 resistance zone first, then build above the 7-day and 12-day averages. Above that, the next test is whether price can recover the 20-day SMA at $2,317.86 and reduce the gap to the 26-day EMA at $2,342.45.
If the $2,221.59 support gives way, the market would be left leaning on $2,208.18 and then the 200-day SMA at $2,156.54. Below that, the recent rebound thesis weakens further, and the October-November recovery would look more like a pause than a base.
There is also a dated fundamental cross-current: TradingView reported on November 5 that US spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $53.04 million of net inflows on November 4, ending a seven-session outflow streak. That matters because it shows some restoration in demand, but the price action has not yet confirmed that inflow with a sustained move higher.
