Williams Racing and Kraken announce global partnership

Williams Racing just announced a global partnership with the Kraken exchange network as they explore the concept of web3 and cryptocurrency together.

Williams Racing collaborates with Kraken

Cryptocurrency and the web3 landscape have recently enjoyed strong adoption from the sporting industry.

According to a recent report, Williams Racing and digital asset trading platform Kraken announced a partnership to bring web3 to the sports brand. In a press statement, Williams Racing and Kraken announced the new global collaboration.

“We’re excited to get the partnership underway to offer our fans cutting-edge crypto and Web3 experiences, while also enabling Kraken to reach new institutional clients.”

James Bower, commercial director, Williams Racing.

Based on the statement, the new collaboration could be the first step for William Racing to venture into the web3 landscape.

Owing to the partnership, the halo and rear wings of the FW45 race car will have Kraken’s branding. The branding will also be visible on team caps and driver’s suits. This branding will remain for the FIA formula one world championship season.

This branding involves KrakenNFT digital artwork, which both have been carefully selected. Based on the statement, Kraken believes this branding will help foster crypto adoption.

Kraken pledges to continue participating in some Williams racing fan zone activities within the season. This partnership presents an opportunity for Kraken to engage crypto fans uniquely.

Web3 applications in sports, Australian Grand Prix

This partnership comes merely a few days before the Australian Grand Prix to be hosted in Melbourne. However, this is not the first involvement of web3 in the Australian Grand Prix.

Australian Grand Prix has been involved with blockchain-based networks, including CENNZnet, a New Zealand public blockchain.

Last year, Power’d Digital chose CENNZnet to deliver the Access program for the Formula 1 Heineken Grand Prix’s 2022 AusGP. This access program allowed Power’d Digital to give fans tradeable tokens and foster simplicity.

In June 2021, Crypto.com became the global partner for Formula 1.

The recent partnership between Kraken and Williams Racing offers an opportunity for Kraken to access the crypto-ready fanbase.
