Justin Sun announces end of ambassadorial role for Grenada

Tron founder Justin Sun just announced on Twitter the conclusion of his ambassadorial term for Grenada on March 31.

Justin Sun resigned from Tron to fill the Grenada ambassador position to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Recent reports indicate that Justin Sun may no longer work as Grenada’s ambassador.

Sun no longer Grenada’s ambassador

Sun tweeted that his tenure as the aforementioned ambassador ends on March 31. He announced his future professional ambitions declaring his intention to rejoin the crypto space.

However, Sun will first delegate his ambassadorial responsibilities to a successor.

The crypto KOL intends to take a short break after transferring his responsibilities before returning to the cryptocurrency industry.

The Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN) reported that Justin Sun had been sacked earlier.

The New National Party that gave Sun the ambassadorship lost to the National Democratic Congress that won the general election in June 2022.

The Grenada government chose Sun to serve as the country’s permanent representative to the WTO in December 2021.

Since then, it has been noted that Sun’s Twitter handle contained the prefix ‘H.E.,’ a symbol used for high-ranking authorities or diplomats.

In his Tweets, Sun appeared grateful for the opportunity to work with WTO.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the WTO members, our partners, colleagues, and particularly to the DG of WTO, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala @NOIweala for her support and collaboration during my tenure.”

Controversy over Sun’s ambassadorial status

Recently, there has been a controversy surrounding Justin Sun’s ambassadorial status, with many reports alleging the crypto KOL is no longer a diplomat.

However, despite the rumors, Sun insisted he was still a diplomat for Grenada at times before accepting he had lost the position.

Sun shared a screenshot from March 31, claiming that he has an active profile as the ambassador for Grenada on the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) internal registration page.

The Tron founder also provided a screenshot of the WTO’s internal website, identifying him as Grenada’s permanent ambassador.
