FBI receive referral as sued YouTube star fails to attend court

Following Ben “BitBoy” Armstrong’s refusal to attend a court hearing over his promotion of FTX, a defunct cryptocurrency exchange, a referral was made to the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Moskowitz counseled the plaintiffs who sued many YouTubers, including BitBoy, for promoting FTX. Kevin Pavels is another influential figure in the case besides Brian Jung Graham, Stephen Tom Nash, and Erica Kuhlberg.

However, Armstrong, an influential member of the cryptocurrency community and a YouTuber, didn’t appear before a court in Florida. Meanwhile, he shared an image of himself enjoying the beach online and the caption implying his lack of care.

Moskowitz said he was “threatened” when he called the FBI and the police in his hometown because of what BitBoy or his supporters would do to him.

Damian to issue a warrant for Armstrong’s arrest after failing to show up

According to several stories, Judge Melissa Damian was agitated by Armstrong’s absence. Lawyer Jason Rindenau said that BitBoy might show up in front of the watchful eye of the court when he is attending the Bitcoin Summit in Miami.

Damian indicated that she would issue a warrant for Armstrong’s arrest if he did not appear by Monday, April 24, at the latest. In addition, she warned him not to discuss Moskowitz in public and claimed that she would report his behavior to the FBI. He complied with her request and stopped talking publicly about Moskowitz.

BitBoy, who attacked Gensler earlier this year for going after Ripple, has expressed confidence in how things will turn out in his favor come April 24 in a recent YouTube video.

BitBoy has been linked with several lawsuits with one making headlines last year, when he brought a defamation action against fellow YouTuber Erling Mengshoel Jr. However, he ended up withdrawing the case following public outcry.
