BNB Chain launches Zero2Hero hackathon
BNB Chain, the decentralized platform for building and running smart contracts on Binance Smart Chain (BSC), has announced the launch of its Zero2Hero hackathon.
The hackathon is a global online event that challenges developers to create innovative applications using BNB Chain’s technology.
In a press statement released on March 23, the network confirmed that the Zero2Hero hackathon would run from April 17 to May 14 and offer a total prize pool of $25,000.
The event is part of BNB Chain’s 6-month-long Builders Series. The series comprises three phases: a boot camp, a hackathon, and an incubator program.
Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, and Tencent Cloud have all been confirmed as key strategic technology partners of the BNB Chain Zero2Hero Hackathon.
Moreover, Chainlink Labs, Automata Network, Nodereal, Tea, Hacken, RSS3, and PolyhedraZK will also join the event. Each partner will be responsible for an aspect of the hackathon, including privacy, security, node provision, dev tools, infrastructure, and social content aggregation.
Hackathon winners to receive $15,000
Participants in the event will get to choose from several tracks, including decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), web3 gaming, and SocialFi. Each track will have its judging criteria, and the winner will receive $15,000, while the runners-up and third-place finishers will receive $6,000 and $4,000, respectively.
Additionally, BNB Chain indicated that it would give winners of each track a direct ticket into the incubator program, which will mark the final phase of the Builders Series. It hopes the program will provide developers with skills and exposure to key industry facets like web3 marketing, community building, and tokenomics design.
The hackathon aims to showcase the potential of BNB Chain for developing decentralized applications (dapps). The network leverages the compatibility and interoperability of Binance Smart Chain (BSC) with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and supports multiple programming languages such as Solidity, Rust, C++, and Go.
The hackathon will include up to 20 workshops introducing crypto enthusiasts to the latest technologies in the space. It will also offer developers free access to nodes and cloud services.
The Zero2Hero hackathon allows developers to learn new skills, network with other innovators, and showcase their creativity using BNB Chain’s technology. To join the hackathon, developers must register on the official website and submit their projects before the April 16 deadline.
According to the event’s organizers, a panel of experts drawn from BNB Chain and its partners will evaluate submitted projects and confirm the winners on July 2, 2023.
